As an Investment Manager, you contribute to the execution of Virya Energy’s investment strategy and the optimisation of the group’s long term value creation by supporting and coordinating acquisition and divestment opportunities, alongside senior team members, from initial evaluation through completion. You help identify and develop new business development opportunities by working with external partners to build and advance strategic initiatives.
Your responsabilities:
Transaction & project management:
Support senior team members in the execution of investment transactions, including acquisitions, divestments and strategic partnerships.
Assist in managing the end-to-end investment process from opportunity assessment to closing, working closely with internal teams and external advisors.
Coordinate cross-functional project teams to ensure timely and efficient transaction execution.
Coordinate due diligence processes across financial, tax, legal, regulatory and commercial workstreams.
Contribute to the preparation of investment committee materials and internal decision-making processes.
Support negotiations and transaction structuring alongside senior team members
Investment analysis:
Contribute to the screening and preliminary assessment of new investment opportunities.
Develop robust investment cases assessing commercial rationale and key value drivers.
Review and synthesise due diligence findings, identify key risks and mitigants, and assess their implications for the investment case.
Translate financial analysis into clear recommendations to support decision-making.
Market analysis & Engagement:
Support the development and maintenance of market intelligence, including country-level overviews and regular updates on macroeconomic and energy market developments.
Contribute to the monitoring and reporting of portfolio companies’ performance.
Provide analytical and coordination support for ongoing engagement activities, including contributing to the review of portfolio companies’ board materials and supporting the preparation of internal board representatives.
Requirements
Master’s Degree in Business Engineering, Finance, Economics, Engineering Sciences or similar.
3 - 5 years of relevant professional experience in investment management, advisory or corporate M&A, corporate finance, private equity or consulting preferably in the energy industry.
Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations.
Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and with external advisors and other stakeholders.
Strong organizational and project management skills. Experience supporting transaction processes or complex project execution is highly valued.
Passion for sustainability and the transition to clean energy.
Fluency in English with a good mastering of Dutch and/or French.
